The tooth-marks left on the edge of the porcelain dish play with the viewer’s senses. Can you really bite into this hard substance? Imagine how tasty the food and drink would have to be if the dishes on the table have not only been licked clean, but partly eaten as well, muses Karina Marusińska. And she ‘artistically reanimates’ ceramic refuse. She gives its back its original function, creates new and incredible objects. Using bits of waste material, she decorates replicas of plates, bowls, cups and mugs that have been assigned to the trash pile because of small technical flaws. She gives a facelift to ‘broken’ porcelain, in a way that is fun and creative, coquettish and pert. She provokes and amuses…
